Lancashire sets 20 priorities for £643m transport plan

Lancashire Combined County Authority has approved a four-year delivery plan covering buses, cycling and railway station accessibility.

Lancashire Combined County Authority (LCCA) has approved a Local Transport Delivery Plan setting out 20 priorities for a £643m transport package over the next four years.

The plan was approved at a cabinet meeting and is funded by the Government. It includes improved bus services, new cycle paths and measures to make railway stations more accessible.

Funding allocated to broad project areas

Rather than assigning funding to individual schemes, the plan allocates money to overarching project areas. The authority said the approach would guide delivery across Lancashire while its transport programme is developed.

The 20 priorities form the basis of the LCCA’s transport investment programme for the four-year funding period.
