European fast-charging operator Fastned reported a 44% year-on-year increase in gross profit to €37 million (£31.2m) in the third quarter of 2026.
Charging-related revenue reached €51.3 million (£43.3m), including €5.1 million from Dutch e-credits relating to the first quarter. The credits were transferred during the quarter after the Dutch government portal reopened following a temporary closure.
Like-for-like charging revenue, excluding the e-credit timing effect, was €46.3 million, up 47% year on year. Annualised revenue per station reached €395,000, close to the upper end of Fastned’s 2026 guidance range of €350,000 to €400,000.
Network expansion
Fastned signed agreements for 26 new locations and opened 17 stations across its European network during the quarter. A further 65 stations were under construction, almost twice as many as at the same point last year.
The company reiterated its target of having between 476 and 506 stations operational by the end of 2026, representing 70 to 100 new stations during the year.
Annualised average volume delivered per station rose to 596MWh. Organic volume growth was 27% in the quarter, broadly in line with 29% growth in the battery electric vehicle fleet across Fastned’s operating markets.
Fastned said it reached 60 stations in Belgium during the quarter, including the opening of the Libin Galaxia site in Wallonia. The station has 12 charging points, capable of delivering up to 400kW.
In Germany, the company had built 17 stations on motorways through the Deutschlandnetz programme. In France, the opening of Thionville Yutz marked Fastned’s first kiosk in the country.
UK growth
Fastned UK country director Tom Hurst said the company had 42 operational hubs in the UK after opening its 40th hub in Liverpool in August, with further launches scheduled before the end of the year.
“As battery costs fall, EV model choices grow, and driver demand soars, our focus remains on expanding our proven station concept to deliver the reliable, ultra-rapid charging network the UK needs,” Hurst said.
Fastned also announced a partnership with Dutch mobility organisation ANWB in September. The agreement promotes Fastned to more than 600,000 ANWB Charge Card users and gives subscribers 10% off charging at Fastned stations across Europe.
The company launched its third bond issuance of 2026 during the quarter under its retail bond programme. The issuance is scheduled to remain open until 30 October 2026.
Fastned chief executive Michiel Langezaal said sales at existing stations had increased by 27%, while total sales rose by 43% against 29% growth in the battery electric vehicle fleet.
“At the same time, we are building at double last year’s pace, with 65 stations under construction going into the final quarter,” Langezaal said.
