West Sussex reappoints WSP for highways and transport support

West Sussex County Council has extended WSP’s role delivering highways, transport and planning consultancy services across the county.

West Sussex County Council has reappointed WSP to support its highways, transport and infrastructure programmes under an extended professional services agreement.

WSP will continue to provide scheme development, technical advice, programme delivery, asset management and wider consultancy services covering highways, transport and planning.

442 projects supported

Since the current contract began, WSP has supported 442 projects up to May 2026, generating nearly £3m in social value through the National TOMs framework.

The partnership has contributed to major transport priorities including the Lyminster Bypass, the A29 realignment and improvements to the A259 corridor between Bognor Regis and Littlehampton.

WSP said its wider contribution has included STEM engagement, volunteering, mentoring, local employment and spending through the county’s supply chain.

Rachel Skinner, managing director for Transport & Mobility at WSP UK & Ireland, said: “We’re proud to continue our long-standing partnership with West Sussex County Council, supporting the delivery of highways, transport and planning services across the county. By combining trusted technical advice with local knowledge and practical delivery support, we can continue to help connect communities, support economic growth and enable more sustainable travel for people across West Sussex.”

The continued agreement is intended to help the council progress its transport and infrastructure priorities, drawing on WSP’s local knowledge and technical capability.
