BUKO Traffic & Safety has placed the largest single signal order in Traffic Group Signals’ history, with more than 300 new Evo1 pedestrian and traffic signals alongside an upgrade programme covering 260 existing units.
The investment is intended to support BUKO’s continued expansion across the UK, following a series of acquisitions that have increased its network of depots in London and elsewhere.
Fleet upgrade and digital management
The 260 existing signals will be upgraded with Evo ACM technology. According to Traffic Group Signals, the work will extend the service life of the assets, improve operational performance and reduce waste while giving the fleet a more consistent appearance.
BUKO will also be onboarded to TMdesk, Traffic Group Signals’ cloud-based signal management platform. The system is designed to provide greater visibility of the fleet and support asset management, operational monitoring and maintenance planning.
The new Evo1 signals are expected to be used on complex urban and urban traffic control-connected schemes in London and other built-up areas. The upgraded Evo ACM units will be deployed for utilities work and less complex multiphase schemes elsewhere in the UK.
Tom Miles, commercial director at Traffic Group Signals, said: “We would like to thank BUKO for this significant investment and for its continued trust in Traffic Group Signals. This record order represents an exciting milestone for both businesses, and we look forward to supporting BUKO’s future growth and working in partnership for many years to come.”
Mark Gallimore, managing director at BUKO Traffic & Safety, said the investment would help the company plan maintenance, monitor performance and respond faster by providing visibility over its assets.
“As BUKO continues to grow across the UK, this investment ensures our operations scale with us, keeping our fleet modern, efficient and built around what our customers need,” he said.
