Hull council tenders £180,000 west-area footway works

Kingston upon Hull City Council is seeking a contractor for an estimated 10-week programme, with tenders due by 12pm on 21 October.

Hull City Council has launched a tender worth an estimated £180,000 excluding VAT for footway improvement works in the west of Kingston upon Hull.

The contract is expected to run from 16 November 2026 to 25 January 2027, with the council describing the programme as lasting about 10 weeks. The estimated value including VAT is £216,000.

Single-stage tender

The procurement is being run as a below-threshold, one-stage open competition. Bidders will be assessed on a 70% price and 30% quality basis.

The council has warned that all required tender documents must be completed in full, with incomplete submissions liable to be eliminated from the process. The estimate is provided to help bidders prepare their submissions and does not commit the council to purchasing works of a particular value.

Deadlines for bidders

Contractors can submit tenders electronically through the e-tendering portal identified in the procurement notice. Enquiries close at 11:55pm on 19 October 2026, while completed tenders must be submitted by 12pm on 21 October.

The notice does not identify the individual footways, a successful contractor or the source of funding. Those details are contained in the scope of works and tender documentation available through the portal.

The council has also tendered other footway improvement packages in 2026, including a £205,000 North and West area contract published in June and a £116,000 West Carr contract published in July.
