Solar Gates, MVIS and P&D Specialist Services have been brought together under the SG name, creating a single group serving highways, construction and infrastructure projects.
SG said the move would allow the three established businesses to collaborate more closely while continuing to provide their existing products and services. The combined offer covers incursion control, traffic management, monitoring, visual messaging, power infrastructure and related support.
Broader project support
The group said customers working on schemes that span several specialist areas would benefit from a more joined-up service covering engineering, installation, electrical work, groundworks, servicing and emerging technologies.
Neil Sampson, CEO of SG, said: “This is a genuine opportunity to bring together decades of combined expertise, installation, electrical, groundworks, service and emerging technologies into a single offering.”
He added: “As the demands on infrastructure and highways projects get more complex, with higher cost pressure, our customers shouldn’t have to manage that complexity themselves. By offering agility and a single point of contact for a range of services, we also bring excellent efficiencies.”
According to SG, the businesses have 75 years of combined experience and more than 3,000 units deployed. Their capabilities include SOSEC and INSTABOOM incursion control, Berlex portable traffic signals, CCTV and monitoring, portable variable message signs, power generation and EV charging infrastructure.
Recent additions to the portfolio include VMS-P, ECO-GEN HVO and an end-to-end EV charging service. SG will also remain the exclusive UK and Ireland distributor for Berlex’s TOPAS-approved R6+ portable traffic signals.
Highways UK showcase
The combined business is due to present its offer at Highways UK at the NEC Birmingham on 14 and 15 October, on stand F25. The display will include SG’s new Interactive Hub, alongside VMS-P, ECO-GEN HVO and the EV charging service.
