TfGM seeks AI platform to create ‘Single View of the Network’

Transport for Greater Manchester is procuring a cloud-based system to combine live transport data and support 24/7 network operations.

Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) has launched a procurement for a cloud-hosted, AI-assisted platform intended to give its operational teams a unified view of the region’s transport network.

The proposed ‘Single View of the Network’ system will integrate and analyse data from multiple transport feeds and operational systems, according to the tender notice published on the ProContract procurement portal.

Platform to support incident response

TfGM says the platform will support 24/7 activity at its Operational Control Centre, as well as the authority’s Highways Intelligent Transport Systems and Urban Traffic Control teams.

Its functions are expected to include helping staff detect, verify and prioritise incidents, understand how situations are developing and coordinate responses. The authority also wants to reduce the time operators spend manually searching for information and comparing data across separate systems.

The system is intended to provide a unified operational picture and support more consistent decision-making. TfGM is seeking a mature and configurable solution that can connect with its existing operational systems and data feeds.

Expressions of interest open until November

Expressions of interest for the tender, titled ‘TfGM Single View of the Network’, are open until 12 noon on 19 November 2026.

The advertised contract period is scheduled to run from 18 January 2027 to 17 January 2030. TfGM’s notice does not state an estimated contract value.
